Global 'Hum' often a form of tinnitus
The mysterious low-frequency "Hum" heard by people worldwide might often be a type of tinnitus, meaning the sound is internal. German scientists found the source for many isn't external noise, but inside their own auditory system, after investigating leading theories. Their study, which recruited 28 volunteers, suggests recognising it as tinnitus could open doors to treatments.
