Global food prices hit highest level since late 2022

World food prices reached their highest point since November 2022 in August, driven by bad weather and trade problems in the Black Sea. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported on Friday that grain prices are at a three-year high and sugar prices are at a one-year high. This rise is a warning that climate shocks and geopolitical tensions are increasing supply concerns.
