Gender pay difference will last until 2056
The Trades Union Congress predicts the wage difference between men and women will not vanish until 2056 at current rates. This 12.8 per cent gap means female staff lose £2,548 yearly, effectively working without pay for 47 days. Finance roles show the largest disparity, prompting calls for improved childcare and flexible schedules to support working parents. Employers must soon publish plans to reduce this inequality.
