French peacekeeper killed in Lebanon ambush
Fresh concern has been raised over the fragile ceasefire in southern Lebanon after a French UN peacekeeper was killed and three others were wounded. President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that Sergeant-Chef Florian Montorio died in an attack on a UNIFIL patrol, with evidence pointing to Hezbollah. Lebanon’s prime minister Nawaf Salam condemned the shooting and ordered an investigation.
