Four astronauts from the US, France, and Russia returned to Earth on Thursday after an eight-month mission on the International Space Station. They had hurried to the station in February to replace a sick colleague, marking NASA's initial medical evacuation in 65 years. The crew departed the orbiting lab on Wednesday and splashed down in the Pacific off Los Angeles.
