Football clubs spent a record $9.89 billion on transfers this summer

FIFA's latest report shows global football spending hit a new high, driven by the 2026 World Cup's impact on player moves. Men's international transfers between June 1 and September 2 totalled $9.89 billion, with English clubs leading the spending. Women's football also saw a record 1,406 international transfers, more than doubling spending to $28.6 million.
