Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have reported that an Omani co-pilot assaulted the captain of a Tel Aviv-bound flight last month. The suspect, 29-year-old Hamam al-Hammami, had plans to deliberately fly the aircraft into Israel's primary airport terminal, aiming to inflict widespread casualties. He admitted acting alone and had used previous flights to familiarise himself with the route and airport.
