Floating island with trees spotted drifting in Canada's Williston Lake
A large floating 'island' with trees was seen moving around Williston Lake in Canada, puzzling experts and locals. BC Hydro, a power company, confirmed its existence using satellite data on July 21st, 2026, about 100 kilometres west of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam. The phenomenon might be linked to the reservoir filling completely this year, for the first time in 14 years.
