Flights grounded at Heathrow and Gatwick after control failure
A technical failure in air traffic control equipment has grounded departures at Heathrow and Gatwick, Britain's two busiest airports, with delays spreading to Manchester, Southend and Jersey. National Air Traffic Services said its engineers were on site investigating and apologised for the disruption. Passengers are being told to check with their airline before travelling, with knock-on delays expected into the evening.
