Fire shuts railway between Newport and Cardiff until Saturday night

Network Rail shut the line between Cardiff Central and Newport after a fire broke out near Lighthouse Road at 3.30pm on Saturday. Transport for Wales told passengers not to travel between the two stations as no trains are running. Gwent Police alongside the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the location, while officers advised residents to keep windows shut.
