Fifa president Infantino will seek re-election in March

Gianni Infantino, who has led Fifa since 2016, will stand for a fourth term in March 2027, the football governing body confirmed on Sunday. The announcement follows pressure on Infantino after the abandonment of his plan to sell stakes in Fifa competitions to private firms. European football's governing body Uefa has filed legal papers in the US.
