Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, acknowledged that a “human error” affected fairness during the Singapore Grand Prix's sprint qualifying. The mistake led to a power disparity when Overtake Mode was briefly reactivated for only 27 seconds, giving some drivers an unfair boost. Nikolas Tombazis, the FIA's single-seater director, called it “the worst thing” for the organisation, affecting some drivers more than others.
