Fernando Alonso says new Formula 1 engine rules will decide his future

The 45-year-old driver recently secured a ninth-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix for Aston Martin. But the two-time world champion said at Monza that the struggling team's performance will not dictate whether he stays in the sport. His current contract expires in 2026, and he wants upcoming rule tweaks to bring back more traditional combustion power before signing again.
