Farmer jailed for life after killing lodger and hiding body in concrete

Christopher Wright, a 73-year-old farmer, received a minimum 35-year sentence on Thursday for murdering Richard Dyson, 55, in 2019. Wright shot Dyson with a shotgun during an argument, then dismembered his body and hid the remains in a concrete-filled barrel for over five years. Police found the remains in July 2025 after new evidence led them to search Wright's South Yorkshire farm.
