Farage's family urged him to quit after Widdecombe's death

The Reform UK leader faced pressure from loved ones after party spokesman Ann Widdecombe was killed in July. Speaking at his party's conference on Saturday, he admitted losing his usual cheerful mood but insisted he never seriously considered stepping down. He noted that the group now gives top politicians 24-hour protection, while some relatives recently dealt with closed bank accounts.
