Family of Agnes Wanjiru Welcome Arrest of Ex-British Soldier as Extradition to Kenya Begins
The family of 21-year-old Kenyan woman Agnes Wanjiru celebrated the arrest of former British soldier Robert James Purkiss, 38, in London as Kenya moves to extradite him over her 2012 murder. Wanjiru’s body was found in a septic tank near a UK army training base in Nanyuki. Kenyan authorities issued an arrest warrant in September and say the extradition process has begun. The family said they have “waited too long” but see the development as a crucial step toward justice.
