Paris-based Mistral has opened a preview of Large 4, a one-trillion-parameter model it calls the most powerful open-weight AI built outside China. Developers can use it through Mistral's API, while downloadable weights arrive on 27 October. Trained on roughly 4,000 Nvidia chips in European data centres, it handles text and images and targets cybersecurity, industrial and finance work, with early benchmark scores subject to change.
