EU parliament votes for new migrant return hubs

The European Parliament has voted to establish offshore facilities for processing migrants deemed to lack the right to remain in the EU. These “return hubs” aim for more efficient returns and swifter deportations, despite opposition from some countries and rights groups. Critics warn that such extraterritorial centres have historically led to serious human rights violations.
