Essex man grows 544kg pumpkin, Gladys, for charity

Gladys, an Atlantic giant pumpkin, weighs about 544kg and has a 4.3-metre circumference, making her roughly the weight of seven adults. Ben White, a heating engineer from Essex, cultivated Gladys within an 18-metre polytunnel, providing her with water and nutrients. He intends to exhibit Gladys at a competition and collect funds for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
