Emirati scholar says UAE should close US bases
A prominent Gulf voice has broken ranks publicly as the Iran war strains regional alliances. Emirati academic Abdulkhaleq Abdulla wrote on X Saturday that American bases in the UAE have become a burden, not a strategic asset, and should be closed. He is a commentator, not a UAE official.
