Electric Vehicles Now Cutting 1.7m Oil Barrels Daily

Electric vehicles displaced 1.7 million barrels of oil per day globally in 2025, up from 1.3 million in 2024, according to thinktank Ember. Ember analyst Daan Walter said EVs are a common-sense choice for countries wishing to insulate themselves from future energy shocks.
