Electric cars become Britain's top choice as August sales rise by 30%

Battery models grabbed nearly a third of the market last month, with almost 28,000 new vehicles hitting the roads. Tesla remains the top seller with an 8.8% share, while South Korea's Kia and Chinese maker BYD follow closely behind. Petrol cars fell behind both battery and hybrid options, accounting for just over 21% of total purchases.
