Electric car sales jump 49% in July to beat UK government targets
Rising fuel costs caused by the Iran war are pushing more British drivers to switch to battery power. A total of 43,547 new purely electric cars were registered across the country in July, capturing a 27.4% slice of all auto sales. The research group New AutoMotive says this growth keeps zero-emission purchases comfortably above the government's adjusted 24.6% target for this year.
