El Niño brings more UK storms and rain this winter

This year's El Niño is almost certain to become very strong, potentially peaking by the end of this year and lasting until spring 2027. The World Meteorological Organisation has warned that El Niño could have a huge worldwide impact, making floods, droughts, and extreme heat more likely. For the UK, El Niño means more storms and rain could be coming in autumn and winter.
