East London waste facility fire brought under control

Around 100 firefighters tackled a large blaze at a Dagenham waste facility that broke out early on Sunday morning. 1. London Fire Brigade reported that the blaze was extinguished at 7:43am, though crews stayed at the location to cool down any remaining hot spots. Residents nearby were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to significant smoke.
