Dutch central bank shifts 86 tonnes of gold to London for crisis preparedness

The Dutch central bank, DNB, has moved 86 tonnes of gold, worth about €72.2 billion, from North America to London. The complex operation took several months between March and August due to increasing global political unrest. The Bank of England now stores the gold, which is regarded as more readily tradable during a crisis.
