Drivers could save 6p a litre as G7 opens its diesel reserves

Drivers could save 6p a litre as G7 opens its diesel reserves

Diesel prices could fall by up to six pence a litre after G7 nations agreed to release 100 million barrels of oil and diesel from emergency stockpiles, economists at Pantheon Macroeconomics say. The RAC puts the UK average at a record 200.20p, making a typical family fill-up about £110. Any relief depends on lower wholesale costs actually being passed on to motorists at the pump.
