Doctor shortage means nurses do doctor work.

Patient safety is a concern as UK hospitals have nurses performing roles usually done by doctors. This practice is happening due to a lack of medics across the NHS, with advanced practitioners (mostly senior nurses) filling these positions. Nearly half of UK hospitals deploy these advanced practitioners to fill empty doctor rota slots.
