DistroKid Removes Songs After Universal Music Lawsuit

DistroKid Removes Songs After Universal Music Lawsuit

Graphic: BriefTea

Music distributor DistroKid has confirmed it removed a small number of songs from streaming services in response to claims by Universal Music Group, which is suing it over an alleged flood of AI-generated tracks. Independent artists say original and properly licensed songs were caught up, often without warning or explanation. DistroKid says it strongly disputes UMG's allegations and regrets the disruption caused to affected musicians.
