Devastating Monsoon Floods Kill Over 500 Across Southeast Asia

Thailand reported 162 deaths with water levels reaching three meters in Songkhla province. Indonesia suffered over 300 fatalities, primarily in Sumatra. Climate change has intensified the annual monsoon season, causing record rainfall. Thai hospital morgues exceeded capacity, forcing use of refrigerated trucks. Malaysian evacuation centers shelter tens of thousands. Economic damage in Vietnam alone has reached at least 500 million dollars, with regional losses expected to be substantial.
