Dani Alves must pay Mexican club Pumas £1.7m after losing contract battle

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has lost a legal battle over his contract termination, meaning he must pay Pumas UNAM £1.7 million. The Swiss Federal Supreme Court confirmed a Court of Arbitration for Sport decision in favour of the Mexican club, which dismissed Alves following his arrest in January 2023. He must also cover about 36,000 Swiss francs in legal and procedural costs.
