UK may cut 2030 EV target to 50% after industry warnings
Ministers launched a consultation on Friday because manufacturers and dealers warned the strict rules meant losing money on each vehicle. Transport secretary Heidi Alexander hopes to support the British motor industry by letting companies sell a larger share of hybrid models. A wider ban on selling petrol-only cars by 2030 and all hybrids by 2035 will still happen.
