Claude's new Sonnet 5.5 is faster and cheaper to run, Anthropic says

Anthropic launched Claude Sonnet 5.5 on Monday, a week after Opus 5.5, saying it writes answers more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5. The company says tasks can cost up to 30% less because the model uses fewer steps, though its list price is unchanged. It is the first Sonnet with tougher cyber safeguards, and a smaller Haiku 5.5 is due within weeks.
