Claude AI to watermark its text to meet EU law

Claude AI to watermark its text to meet EU law

Future Claude AI models will create text with an invisible watermark, making it possible to tell if Claude was involved in writing it. The alteration is being implemented because the EU AI Act, effective August 2, mandates that AI providers label AI-generated material. The watermarking won't affect the quality or cost of Claude's output and won't be noticeable to readers.
