Londoners are most likely to die from extreme heat in England

New analysis shows more people in London die from blistering heatwaves and extreme cold than anywhere else in the country. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) determined that sweltering temperatures were a factor in 0.36% of all fatalities recorded in London between 1988 and 2025. Tory MPs say confusing air conditioning rules and limited shaded areas make the city more dangerous.
