Chip shortage is slowing AI cancer cure research, says UK tech boss
Rene Haas, the chief executive of Cambridge-based Arm Holdings, believes AI will find a cancer cure within our lifetimes that humans cannot. However, he told the BBC that a global shortage of the microchips needed to build data centres is holding back AI's rapid growth. Haas, whose company designs microchip brains, said new chip factories are needed before AI can fully develop.
