Chinese chips seen taking 80% of China's AI market

US export controls appear to be backfiring, handing China's own chipmakers the home market and squeezing Nvidia out of it. Research firm TrendForce forecasts homegrown chips, led by Huawei and Cambricon, will take nearly 80% of China's AI server chip market this year. Nvidia and AMD's share is set to drop to about 21% from 34%, as Beijing pushes hard for chip self-reliance.
