China's new rules: Asset seizures, entry bans for foreign firms

New rules could put foreign firms at risk and deepen business uncertainty. China is setting up legal measures to respond to US pressure before Donald Trump’s planned Beijing visit on May 14-15, including powers to punish companies seen as harming its interests. A 20-point system allows penalties such as entry bans and asset seizures, while exports to the US fell more than 26% in March.
