China's 'Ethnic Unity Law' now targets critics beyond its borders

China's new "Ethnic Unity Law" is now in effect, giving its government legal authority to act against individuals and organisations outside China. Critics fear it will erode minority rights and target advocates for ethnic minorities living abroad. The law aims to create a unified national identity among China's 56 ethnic groups.
