Camber Sands plastic pellet removal restarts 5 October after new biobead wash-up
A large-scale clean-up to remove plastic pellets from Camber Sands in East Sussex is set to restart on 5 October. Millions of the pellets, also called biobeads, washed up after a Southern Water spill in Eastbourne in October 2025. Although many have been removed, more washed ashore on 12 September due to high tides, Southern Water confirmed.
