Burnham to push for public control of key services

Prime Minister Andy Burnham will advocate for greater state ownership of water, energy, and transport when he makes his inaugural appearance in the House of Commons since assuming the premiership. He believes essential services have become unreliable and unaffordable, holding back the economy. Mr Burnham will face a two-hour grilling from MPs on Tuesday, followed by his first Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday.
