Burnham given defence spending deadline and policy funding gaps
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has been warned by a British commander to clarify defence spending commitments by autumn. His government also has a £4.7 billion shortfall in the defence investment plan left by the previous administration. Some of Burnham's new cost-of-living policies, including cutting VAT on energy bills, have also raised questions about their funding.
