Buckingham Palace gallery doubles its painting display

Buckingham Palace visitors this summer are now able to view nearly twice the previous number of paintings in the Picture Gallery, after a substantial reorganisation of the Royal Collection. The gallery, one of the State Rooms, now features 120 paintings, up from 63, after a transformation that took 875 hours. The rehang presents an uncommon opportunity to considerably expand the collection of world-class paintings available for public viewing.
