British schoolgirl, 16, dies in 'terrible accident' on Caribbean holiday

Abbie Lainton, from Swindon, died on July 30 in the Dominican Republic, with her sister Carley and brother Bradley also badly hurt. The 16-year-old was enjoying a family holiday, having just completed her GCSE examinations, when the incident occurred. Reports suggest the accident involved a boat explosion off the coast of Bayahíbe, a popular tourist spot.
