British manufacturers can cut power bills by 25% through new scheme

More than 10,000 British manufacturers can apply for the British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme, which starts in April 2027. The scheme will free qualifying businesses across England, Scotland, and Wales from paying charges that finance renewable power and backup electricity production. The British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme will reduce costs by up to £40 per megawatt hour, and applications are being accepted until 30 November.
