British farmers harvested disappointing cereal yields following record-breaking summer heat
Cereal yields fell significantly below historical averages this year, following a summer of extreme weather, resulting in a "disappointing" harvest. Wheat, spring barley, and oat crops all fell short of typical levels, with spring barley being "one of the most challenging" crops. Crop quality was also affected, according to a warning issued by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board.
