British beekeepers call for a national campaign against invasive Asian hornets

Experts say the yellow-legged insects are wiping out native honeybees, risking pollinator deserts that could seriously harm our food supply. Government inspectors removed a record 161 nests during 2025, but the British Beekeepers Association warns that volunteers cannot tackle the problem alone. The group wants a nationwide education push so more ordinary people can help spot and report the nests.
