Britain doubles maximum fines for businesses caught dodging Russian financial sanctions

The government's sanctions watchdog can now fine rule-breakers up to 100% of the value of their offence, doubling the previous 50% limit. On Monday, Britain's organised-crime police also issued a national warning focused on a Russian-backed financial system known as the A7 network. The government says Moscow uses this shadow setup to move funds and purchase equipment while avoiding Western restrictions.
