Brewdog: Founders' £50M Payouts, 484 Jobs Lost
US firm Tilray bought Brewdog's Ellon brewery and 11 bars for £33 million this week, after the beer company entered administration. This resulted in 38 other pubs closing and 484 staff losing their jobs. Co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie left in 2024, after each selling shares for £50 million in 2017. 200,000 plus investors, who together invested over £100 million, are unlikely to get any money back.
