Brazil’s President Lula prohibits all online gambling and sports betting
Online gambling has been prohibited by Brazil's President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who described the sector as a "cancer" and attributed household income reductions to it. The provisional order, signed on Friday, outlaws all sports betting and online casinos. The prohibition precedes the initial round of Brazil's presidential election by seven days, an election in which Lula is seeking a fourth term.
